You Bet Field Trip, Sept 24-25, 2016

  • Experience primitive camping at its best.

  • Meet local tellers of tall tales (some of which may be true).
  • Pick guitar under the stars.
  • Explore the hydraulic diggins near the lost town of You Bet.
  • Meet real gold miners, and try your luck.
  • Track local wildlife.
  • Learn about local plants.

"Rockin' and Recycling" Field Trip, Oct 6, 2016

This field trip at Crane Creek Regional Park will focus on the properties of the common rocks and minerals in the park and the processes that formed them. Students will also learn the importance of recycling products manufactured from minerals and rocks, like glass and aluminum, as a simple way to conserve natural resources.

Sonoma Community Center has invited us to participate in its Playhouse Performance Series again this year. These evens are made possible by funding from Sonoma Wine Country Weekend, the series features live performances for Sonoma’s 4th and 5th grade students in the Center’s Andrews Hall. We are invited to attend a performance by storyteller Michael Katz at the Community Center at 11:30 AM. Michael’s performance of Multicultural Folktales will share stories from around the world that encourage cultural awareness and pride.

The "Down the Drain" field trip is hosted by Sonoma County Regional Parks EDC program at Spring Lake Regional Park in Santa Rosa. Down the Drain demonstrates a raindrop's journey from cloud to creek and teaches about the water cycle.

5th Grade Pentathlon/Olympiad

The 5th Grade Olympic Pentathlon was inspired by the Waldorf School curriculum and Spacial Dynamics. The 5th Grade athletes live in harmony with their bodies and the Gods of Mt. Olympus. They move with beauty, grace, power and speed as they compete and strive together. All of their movements are offered as gifts to the Greek Gods on Mt. Olympus.
